We've had this discussion before, but to repeat, I switched to UVerse about 8 months ago and am solidly impressed with it. Not only is it more consistent/reliable than the cable service I had previously (Time Warner), but it's saving me money. When you compare rates, be sure to go apples-to-apples. I've heard of people paying well over $150 month, but that depends on how many channels you're getting [premium levels], how many TVs are connected with how many DVRs, and of course the internet speed. I am on the internet every day, sometimes for several hours a day, but don't do much movie streaming or that sort of thing. Some large file downloads, but not much continuous streaming. For me, the 6 mbs internet service works great, and honestly I could get by with 3 mbs. So not every household needs their highest internet speed. As you go up the "tiers," service gets pricier in a hurry, and the same goes for tv channels. I have the U300, which is quite similar in channels to the HD tier I previously had from my cable company, but it costs quite a bit more to get the ultra-premium packages. So if you sign up to see every NCAA basketball and football game in America, don't be surprised if your UVerse bill is on the high side. I'm getting something like 400 channels and very workable internet for a touch over $100 a month [less in the first year, not to mention the bonus they paid me to sign up for my free conversion]. I can live with that.
