I had cable and then switched to U-Verse. Here is the breakdown:

Pro's:

-Can get good rates and promotional deals
-A lot of channels (HD channels also)
-Can get a lot of premium (HBO, STARZ, etc) for good deal
-Hook you up with DVR boxes and they are easy to use and nice to have

Con's

-Everything is run off internet connection (Internet surfing, downloads, video streaming, TV). Because of this if someone is recording a show/movie or if you have 2 TV's watching HD channels at the same time your internet is slow because the recording is tapping into your internet speed. Was REALLLLLY annoying at times and ATT told me there is nothing they can do about it. Would have to wait for youtubes to buffer FOR EVV EERRRR before being able to watch them.

-Sometimes watching TV you get unexpected BS connection because the TV is running off a modem. Cause channels to freeze up and cant watch them.

-AT&T customer service is the WORST I have EVER had. Takes them forever to get a technician out to set up your service or fix any problems. They are also idiots when you talk to them on the phone. I have talked to AT&T reps in the U.S. about a problem then talk to a rep in India a day later and they give you 2 different answers and don't correspond with each other in their system. Just pathetic communication and coordination and seriously the worst CS I've ever had in my life with any company. Dead Serious.

I like the U-Verse itself a lot and hate AT&T as a company and their customer service. Clear as mud?
