kbad: we always have new features coming out. stay tuned on some new 2013 announcements for various features.

Mikes: unfortuantely no. The two dont talk very weel together. you can record from plotter to a blank SD and then transfer to PC app but isnt a way to transfer photos from phone app to pc app. at least not as of today.

Paul---On the PC App, how do I know if Fresest Data is downloaded, what version I have? I run it and it usually starts download when I OK it, but I never get msg that it ran successful, failed, version loaded, ..... I also run it in Admin mode as they instructed me to once. Any way to check what version of maps I have?

Just old: Shoot me a PM message. We will try and figure it out. At the end, it should go ahead and tell you Freshest data is completed. Takes a while depending on file size and download speed but you should see a little bar moving showing its downloading and then at the end showing successful. if not, we need to figure out for you whats up.

Jimmy: Easy one for you. All you will need to do is have a card reader and blank SD card. OUnder settings you will see save routes to SD card. Have SD card in card reader. Select that option. pick lowrance, pick hds, and then save to card. Once you have done that put the SD card into HDS. Go to files and upload waypoints from card. Everything will move over.

On the bottom of the app there is a tool bar and on the right end there is one settings and scrolling the menu you will find it; quite easy to do except the trails; it seem (at least for me) that the trail from my Lowrance does'nt show on the app

As you my APP is in French but it doesn't matter it's well illustrated:

And to upload and download on a HDS:scroll on the bottom of the page

I have a Platinum Card and I am having issues with my HDS5. After I did the HDS software upgrade the map did not show as much detail as it used to. Some lakes it is actually better with the Insight after the HDS upgrade. I posted in this forum when it happened and Jason said it was being addressed by Lowrance, has it been fixed?

Javelin: very odd. Sounds like a setting was removed especially if it degraded below insight. I will find out right away and reply back.

How much more detail will I see if I bought the Platinum plus card on my new Touch screen Lowrance in the Stuart area and the lower keys? The lower keys is really where I need allot of depth numbers.

Scroll down the map to the area you want to look: WebApp | Navionics
With the Platinium you are able to get a real view of the marinas (pink sailboat on the chart), 3D etc...

That web app has very little detail in the keys.It does not let you zoom in enough to see exactly how detailed it gets.

Yes. The detail in the back country in the lower keys from Baha Honda to Key West. In my 740 Garmin you could zoom in and get allot more detail and depth markers to navigate it. It is very tricky. I now have the Lowrance.

    Renegade,

The detail down the keys and backwater for us is VERY good on Platinum. Stuart also has value with the viewing of SonarCharts. Here are my main two reasons I'll tell you platinum plus there:
    1. the sat overaly for the keys is invaluable. put on the overlay and shade it down a touch. you will see more about the reef and still see contours. Also for area in the backwaterwhere there is no mapping as considered "non-navigable" the sat image will show the creeks and marshes so you can use that as areas to fish. might not have contours (until some does sonarcharting) but you can see those backwater runs and fish them. Very valuable.
    2. turn on the "fish N Chip" mode. This will eventually be named "Sonarcharts" but for now... This will give you added contours offshore and the vast majority of the Keys is in 1' contours for inshore!

well you are not alone. i have been dealing with the metric system on my Navionics PC app for a year now. After reading Paul's reply, I figured out you could click and scroll to find feet. Thanks guys!

kbad, we currently have some shading available now but not mid depth shading at this time. We are always looking to make imporvements with our OEM partners so it really depends on their desires of what they would like to do. I'm not really at liberty to speak of upcoming plans until live on any topics to protect their interests. We are always working on new features.

what were you looking for these shaded areas in particular to show or be used for?

We are starting to hear some of this. some of the chart regions have grown with data to a point of capacity. We can help and just upgrade you to a larger chip size. Send me your email and I'll get someone from Navionics to help you or just email customerservice@navionics.com
