.when your doing a job and something you cut or fit, didnt fit good. Well I learned that lesson pretty early in life but I guess who ever cut this out did not.

My whole console broke after some rough water trips and all the gauges fell half way to the floor because so much of the shroud was cut away or literally butchered away. It went from 1st pic to 2ndpic from that "Cant see it from my house" theory.






you would'nt believe how bad this thing is broke, I mean every where.The front pic does not show the severity of the breaks, plus you would not believe how thin this stuff is. I'm talking maybe 1/16th of an inch no exagerration, Ok maybe 3/32nd's

These pics show about half of whats broke and the last pic shows how you can see the breaks from the side that shows in the boat.

Well, Cant see it from my house, unless I log onto here that is!... No that sucks but it is fixable. You can bond it back together with epoxy or glass it, theres several ways to make a new/replacement plate,not the entire console but the gauge section using either a wood backer board or thin metal for support. Youll have to use bondo to smooth it but an upholstery shop can wrap it in material of sorts(vinyl or something liek that)and make it work again, actuall might look better than before.

Why can't you fix it with new screws and screw backers? It does look bad but I'd bet it didn't leave the factory much better than that. I would get some new 1/4" HDPE and woodgrain or carbon fiber vinyl sheeting and work on new instrument cluster plates (less than $100). That way you can relocate the screw holes, use screw head covers to dress it up, and arrange the gauges and knobs the way you want. I mean who uses their speedo anymore?

Back each area with 1/16" or 3/32" aluminum. You could probably epoxy it to the underside of the shroud. (Of course do this AFTER you size it correctly and cut out the holes for the gauges) I am assuming that your wood grain panels are reusable.
