Chesapeake Bay, Cambridge, MD - Salt water flush?

Possibly taking my Champion w. 225 Evinrude down to the Choptank Bay/River, Cambridge, MD. Normally am in 100% fresh water or the top of the Chesapeake. If I put in at Cambridge, and cant get to a flush or back in fresh water for a few days, is this a problem? I wouldn't be going out into the Bay proper, but the water at the Rt.50 bridge is more salt than fresh, I believe. Thanks Larry

Personally, I don't think it will be a problem. I've got a '96 Ocean Pro that's never seen fresh water and it almost never gets flushed. Fact is, I haven't flushed it for over 5 years and the only think rusting on it is the outside of the trim pump.

I also know that most every boat in the slips where I keep my other boat (Just south of Cambridge, MD) doesn't get fresh water flushes on a regular bases and none of us have problems.

Thanks. hard to believe that a couple of days before a flush or run in fresh water could make for a long term problem. Appreciate your thoughts.

I agree with Dae, You will be ok.
I am an upper Chesapeake bay fisher/crabber who occasionally tows his boat down to Chincoteague Va to fish for flounder and hardheads.
My engine is a 1985 XP 150 that does not have any problems with rust and I don't have any type of flush schedule for my engine.
The only time it's on the garden hose is when I am tinkering with the engine.
If you can't run with the big dogs, just stay on the porch.
