There are three types of people in this world, those who can count and those who can't!
My club does 60% for first, 30% for second and 10% for third. Everyone else writes it off as a "donation".
you can try tournament keeper free trial. pretty cool http://blog.taysys.com/?page_id=4

For 10 boats we do 60, 40, for 15 boats we do 50, 30, 20.
Payout to 20% of the field (1 place for every 5 boats)
How you split it up from there is up to you.
If you have a bigger field 30+ boats 1 in 5 is too much. That is one of the problems with USA Bassin. You have a 50 boat field and are lucky to make $400 on a win. We've had a couple where we have wo $500 for BB and $400 for 1st.
this is for 90% payout w/ big fish included. 10% goes back to club.# Boats 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Lunker

Now this is where it gets hinky. The guys that finish in the top 3, they will have 25% of their total weight deducted. This weight will then be given to the bottom 3 guys. Typically non-boaters but not always. The next 3 guys down the chart will have 20% of their weight deducted and the next 3 after them 15%.
This weight is given to the reciporcal guys on the bottom. The idea is that they guys that are always winning are usually the boaters. The club wanted to make things more equitable for all the members.
