Minn Kota MK315D Charger

Just got this as a bday gift from my pops, does anyone have photos of it installed or one like it installed on any of the "older 285s or similar????" Im trying to figure out where to istall this thing at.

I have the exact same onboard charger as the one you have there but i have it on my 2004 stratos 295 pro xl. If you dont mind seeing picture of that i will post it up for you.

I bought the same charger several months ago. I don't have any pics right now, but I can get some next week. I have a 1998 Stratos 283. I actually made a mounting place for it. I didn't like the way the battery compartment was laid out, so I re-organized the entire compartment. Remind me next week, and I'll post some pics of the work I did.

The reason Im asking is its saying to mount it above the water line. The issue Im running into is that the bilge area has three batteries, and two gas tanks flanking both sides. So that takes up most of the mounting area. The other area on the fwd bulkhead is a livewell so I wont be drilling into that, and all thats left is the transom.

Here is where i installed mine, yeah i know its dirty and its a rats nest back there but i will clean it later. I velcro'ed the onboard charger there because i didnt feel like drilling holes in the boat, it works great and did not move at all with it just being velcro.

So a little update, I mounted it in the rear right storage compartment area and drilled three holes thru the compartment wall and ran the leads thru them to the respective batteries. Will post a pic tomorrow, I am looking for some type of grommet to fill the void instead of nasty looking clear silicone, does anyone have any suggestions?
