    e-tec xd100 update

    Hi new member. 2005 e tec 225ho

I am buying a boat with the e-tec 225ho and was wondering if i would have any issues with my motor being programed for xd100 oil. the reason i ask is i live in MN and will be using this rig into the late fall when the temps get cool. would the colder temps affect this motor?

is there any reason not to have this done?

    Thanks,
    Hoss15

I would definitely run the XD-100. You will not have any issues running it in the cold and is actually the preferred oil for those temps. That is a full synthetic oil, so the low temps do not cause it to get thick like other oils.

    You'll love that motor.

I have an' '06 200HO and am running xd100. The temps were pretty cold this spring a couple of mornings when I was out and no problems. I believe BRP is recommending the xd100 for temps below 40 F, so that is the way I would go.

I run the xd-100 in my 03 DI to eliminate the cold weather problems associated with the xd-50 and DI engines. You're good to go with the xd-100.
