2003 Evinrude HO

I am running a 2003, 200hp Evinrude HO on a Champion 196 Elite, also a 2003, with a 25 pitch Tempest Plus....How many RPM should I be running????

FYI--I am getting 5600....Is this low?

Same prop? I am only getting 64 mph with a full tourney load...Will a jack plate tweak produce the difference? I know I should get at least 68 in the warmer water...

Jack plate tweeking always produces results be they negative or positive. Keep an eye on the water pressure, the beast needs a lot of water to keep her cool.

I am getting about 13 PSI at WOT....I have heard that as long as I'm at 10 PSI, I am good......

I have an 03 200 HO on a 99 191 Champ and am getting 69 GPS with 30 gals of gas, full livewell and 2 220# guys. 24 Raker by Croxton, 8" Slidemaster, FULL trim, I believe I'm right around 2 1/2 " below pad. I know that sounds high but I've run several Rakers and that's where she likes it. I just got a 25 Tempest plus I will try tomorrow if the rain holds off. Also I will get a real measurement on the motor height and let you know. I'm getting 12 - 14# H2o pressure WOT. Just over 6000 RPM's. All rigs are ' truly' different as far as where they will perform. I get a better holeshot and water pressure set lower but the speed isn't there. I have some playing to do and that's part of the fun !!! We'll see what tomorrow brings. Jim

I know all rigs are different....But....I bought this boat from a buddy whoo was getting 68-70 mph with the current set-up, with the exception that I trashed the prop but have one that is good as new...balanced and everything. I am trying to figure out of the dealer touched my jackplate when I got a tune-up. I found a old Bass and Walleye Boats article when my rig came out '03 Champ 196, 03' HO and a 26 Raker. They got 70.5 turning 5950 RPM in 70 degree water. They were only 1 7/16" below pad. ??????????

I am running a balanced and blueprinted Raker (original). Mark Croxton did the prop work.....I also have a 6" Bob's Hydro Plate. My boat will consistantly run 69 to 70 full tx load with me and my fat buddy. Best speed (gps) with half tanks and only me in boat is 73.8 @5800 rpm's......Roger
