    BASS affiliated club questions

My old club is BASS affiliated. I have always had issues with dues as I feel they are pretty high. I was treasurer for a while so I understand some costs. Just wondering how other BASS clubs are run. We had $10/month dues. plus your BASS membership which was another $20 a year.

If I remember right we would pay for our federation team's entry fee and that was the reason of the high dues maybe????? anybody else do this, I really can't recall. Otherwise we did trophies and such.

    Does this seem high?

We pay $100 dollars a year 50 to state federation and they split it some how. Then the other 50 goes to club to pay for 6 man team, trophies, food for couples tournament/cookout. We only pay $10 a tournament not a lot of money but good guys and lots of help. Hope this helps.

never heard of monthly dues..did you pay in the winter or just the months you fish? My club used to pay the entry fee for a 6 man (top point leaders) team "club championship" tourney the KBF had every year. Less members now so dont pay that any more. $10 a month seems pretty high but if your tournament are %100 payback then I guess its about right. My clubs tournament entry fee keeps $6.00 a tourney to the club for the end of year tournament championship.

I think where the $10 monthly dues go would be the main concern. Our club championship is free entry, hotel/cabin and food from the dues and tournament fees.

try to fish all winter too, but dues are all 12 months and we don't have a championship, just points tallied throughout the year. I would love to rejoin, but I have these concerns. I do miss some of it. We are also a paper club so we don't do a weigh in and it is a draw format. you are competing with the other guy in the boat.

Ours is $75 per year ($30 to B.A.S.S. / $20 to State / $25 to the club). We then have an annual fund raising tourney that pays for our state team entry fee and expenses.

Re: BASS affiliated club questions (rgbrunson)

We are just starting this year and its $30 federal, $20 state, $60 for the club membership. We haven't got all of the info yet about being federated and how it will work. Curious if I sign up as a non-boater, will I be fishing against the whole field or just other non-boaters in the state tourny?

sounds pretty much the sam escept we pay $100 a year and fed dues are taken from that. 85% of the kitty goes to the State team on 1 April to cover entry fee. Trophies and such are getting more expensive. We have around 20 in our club. Ours too is a paper tourney and point system for club schampionship and we fish 11 tourneys with two of the considered away tourneys

Ours is 60 per year. 40 to state and 20 to national. We have sponsors and fundraisers to cover 6-man entry, kids prizes for casting contest and trophies.

    Pay as you go tournaments.

Whole field here in NC, But you are entitled to 1/2 the day in control of the boat and area.

Our club charges $30 FOR National Federation Nation dues, $30 for State Federation Nation dues and $10 for club dues. New members pay a $25 initiation fee the first year. Tournament fee for all seven monthly tournaments is $35 paid in advance or three tournaments is $20 paid in advance or $10 per tournament paid at the monthly meeting prior to the tournament. Ours is the same costs, we pay for the state and national dues, pay for the state team, and pay out a couple hundred at each club tournament. All in all, its not that far off.

My TBF club is 90 bucks and all that gets your is in the TBF and FLW. nothing left for the club out of the 90

$120 a year doesnt seem TOO terrible when you consider $50-60 of that will go to BASS and the state federation.

Ours is not quite that high but we also dont do trophies or state team expenses

Re: BASS affiliated club questions (dchance)

We pay $65 a year broken down as $30 to Federation Nation, $20 to our state federation, $15 to the club. B.A.S.S. dues are paid direct by each member, as B.A.S.S. usually runs better promtions than if the club collected the dues.

For that amount we receive various magazines and newsletters, however it seems lately they have gone from monthly to quarterly, we have an accidental death & dismemberment policy that covers us while engaing in official club functions, and there is a general liabilty policy covering the club when conducting functions. So thats pretty good for our $50 FN & B.A.S.S. dues. Our state dues provides you a means to participate on the state tournament trail and a way to advance up the trail to Federation Nation National Championship and the B.A.S.S. Classic.

As a club we looked at leaving all federations as no one had the ambition to compete higher than the club level, however when we looked at the cost of club insurance we decided to stay. Mind you we have never had a claim so I have no idea if these policies actually pay out or how much of a hassel it is to file a claim.

What about each boater using their own ins. policy like most open or charity tourneys do. Minimum ins. requirements?
