Internet went to snail speed

any ideas? everything was fine a couple days ago, now my internet is slower than crap and hangs up on sites. I have to keep refreshing to get the pages to fully load. I have already run Malwarebytes, superantispywaresweeper, rkill, and advanced system care with no luck.

And before you post, "stay off the porn sites" I assure you I haven't done that in some time on this computer

Try reseting the router. Unplug it. Count to 10 and then power it back up. If you don't have a router, don't worry about resetting it.

you have to have some sort of trojan if everything is up to par. May try re installing your browser.

I use IE, but also have Firefox. Firefox has the same symptoms

One thing to remember in the future after you get it fixed is don't ever open up a e-mail if you don't know who it is. Sometimes this is how this type of crap gets started.

Download combofix and run it. It is the best malware tool I have found. It will also find stealth virus's that others cannot find. You have to disable any other malware tools that are running. When you save it to your computer you have to rename it something besides combofix. This will make your computer run like new. Also goto filehippo and download ccleaner and run it everyday. I usually run combofix once a week.

Yes, combofix! But if that don't work, can you use recover manager? Recover your original factory setting! Just like new again!

whens the last time you cleaned out your temp files,cookies etc ? do you or have you ever ran Ccleaner ? its a good program to run at least once a week. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Run a speedtest. Speakeasy makes a good one. It could be your IP and not necessarily your computer. Post your speed once you run it.

laptop or desktop?

if its a laptop try connecting to the router wired.. run a speed test wireless then wired and see if that makes any difference. you gotta figure out if its the machine or the connection. any other machines on the network?

Is it just one PC?

Do you have another you can hook up and check? I would see what it is before I went running "fix it" software or rolling back to a restore point.

I can still use the net, just very slow and sporadic hang ups. Have been trying to download ComboFix and it is having problems downloading. The speed test seems to also be having issues.
