I beleive you do not have enough juice or cold cranking amps. Do you have a mercury cause they require a lot of juice to start. What kind of battery do you have and what is the CCA?

How old is the battery? Sounds like it is starting to go bad.

agree if it is several years old may be time to get a new one with as much CCA's you can afford. The Sears PM 31 is a beast and 3 year warranty but it is heavy at 75 lbs. Best one I ever bought

more likely a new battery, certainly a bigger one...youre experiencing voltage drop from the high amperege drain of the starter motor on the engine...you should be able to display the voltage on your screen on the bird, watch it drop outta sight when you crank the engine....im thinking its not high enough to start with....= new battery

I had the same problem in my new boat after about six months and found out it was the battery. Dealer had put in a group 24 series and it didn't last very long, I bought a Cabela's AGM group 30 that has MCA=1525, CCA=1205, Res. Cap=205, never had anymore problems.

Bigger batts are better, but you might just have a loose or corroded connection.

One of mine does and the other doesnt, weak connection. I'd sure re do the connections first before I ran out and got a new battery.
