That's cool how the ice is frozen around the standing timber.

Yep, I'm planning a trip to Egypt in a few weeks... It's really not that bad as long as you have good cold weather gear. The hard part is finding a ramp that isn't frozen over. It's really hard to get the boat out of the water on a sheet of ice! lol

Egypt's a great lake..No better lake ( nearby) for the winter blues..The wind is the worst part of cold wheather fishing and good clothing is a must..Enjoy your trip to Egypt..Sangchris is closer so I hit it often usually from Feb. 1st on till ice out..

I know that lake pics bring back memories of taking the boat out for deer season. BRRRRRRRR

You're absolutely right Dave. You'd be surprised how comfortable you can be with the proper clothing. I have always loved being outdoors and that includes winter..

    Re: Cold Trip--pic heavy (local16)

Before the lakes froze over a few weeks ago--there were guys out water skiing. Air temp was in the 40's but I bet the water was much colder. In H.S. we were in the newspaper, we went water skiing one nice day in Nov. and we ended up skiing in a snow storm. The upside was no other boat traffic.

I'll have to give you credit, you certainly are a pretty tough cookie. I was down in Dallas a few days ago. The low temperature was 34 degrees and the news was telling the parents to bundle up the children due to the arctic blast.
