    200 EFI ECU Repair

    My auto mechanic was troubleshooting my fuel pump issue and narrowed it down to the ECU.
    He broke it apart and it is full of some kind of gel.
    He's gonna try to get the board off and fix the component.

    Does anyone have advice for someone with experience with this type of work but not for marine components? Is there a trick to removing the board without it breaking?
    How do he replace the gel if he is successful?

    How about a used ECU? Does anyone know where we could get one at a reasonable price?

    My advise would be to NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE.

    Even if he were to be able to remove the potting material, he would need to have access to the 4 questionable drivers (replacements), as well as the ability to reinstall them on the board (and then re-pot the unit upon reassembly).

    Brucato makes a couple of nice replacement computers. If mine ever dies i plan on getting the less expensive of the two.

    Simons motor sports repairs them for $500 Simon Motorsports Had them do mine . They offer a 1 year warranty . 4 months on mine and no problems . C.D.I also offers repair for $495 with warranty .

    Brucato ACU is a good idea. As long as it's a bad ECU. Another option is a good used one. Should you need a used ECU, you should call Don at European Marine or Lee Sanderson at Sanderson Marine - Maybe they would have one laying around.

    Simon Motorsports is the way to go.. Same day service... But its $595.00 for that repair.. just had it done a few weeks ago.. good luck....

    if you got part# you may be able to locate one on ebay,there's several on there with a warr. i seen them as cheap as 150.00
