How do the pros do it?

Been fishing and around boats my whole life and have never been able to figure out how the guys that you see on TV manage to keep a hat on while running at speed. I can't recall how many hats I've lost. Even turning em' backwards does no good. They just flip down over my face before going overboard.
If anyone here knows how Roland Martin can wear a freakin' cowboy hat, I'd sure be curious as to how it's done. I'm thinking it's got to be staples.

Hair spray-I'm serious. Been doing it at rodeos for years. Spray it on your fore head before you put your hat on.

I have a Ranger. So that's not it. (nice try, though)
As for keeping the brim turned down. Works, as long as I don't turn my head. And that doesn't explain Ol' Roland and his cowboy hat, does it.

I wear a visor most of the time for that reason. The wind catches the top of the hat usually and raises it, the the wind lifts it by the bill, doesn't happen with visor. You can pull a visor further down also(better for sight fishing also). Most fishing shows never show them going above 50 mph and they edit out the parts when their hats blow off.

I swear I used to do this. You spray a liberal amount of hairspray on your FOREHEAD and put your hat on while its still wet. Leather inside hat brims work better. Only problem is you have to peel it off. Watch the PBR guys take their hats off

I had my hat blow off in a Ranger once. Not my Ranger. But in a Ranger.
