    BASS articlses.....................BS?

I read a article in BASS magazine this month about Chris Lane and his spring time jerkbait pattern. Said it was his go to pattern, tried and true. Only problem is it was just back in the spring in a BASS tx he was throwing the slender pointer and Zona made the comment that he had to borrow it as he had never owned/thrown a jerkbait before. I think the tx was at T bend. The article makes it sound as hes been doing this a while. No big deal, just makes me wonder about the content in their articles. Just wondered if anyone else caught this.

I doubt most of those guys would tell you the truth about what they had for lunch, much less what their "go to" patters are.

besides the fact I don't buy into anything those guys say because they need to put food on their tables and aren't about to let us all in on their money technique.....you do know they sometimes write those articles like 6 months inadvance right?
    Question everything!

They are all paid tackle salesmen. Some guys can fish like crazy, but if you cant hawk the goods of the guys that are paying your bills you aint gonna make it in the big time.

Just found it odd that he borrowed a jerkbait at a tournament last spring because he doesnt throw them. Now BASS prints an article making it sound as if its his no. 1 technique. Thats all!

I believe he had to borrow a JB because he didn't have any with him. T-Bend at the time was mostly in post spawn mode and he probably went in with this preconceived notion. I don't know if you caught it but, you know it most likely not JB time when a Florida guy is out fishing in shorts. He also said that he had no idea why they were eating a JB.

    Re: BASS articlses.....................BS? (idbefishing)

kind of like an article i saw back some years ago about catching huge bass in the dead of winter, had a pic of this guide holding two nice 6-7lb bass, had on coveralls, gloves and a taboggin, the article talked how he and his technique was catching numbers of huge bass when local tournaments weren't even bringing in small limits, but they forgot all the trees in the pic background and grass was extremely green.i don't remember the what mag it was though.
