    Police standoff.

This is north of Canton, MS, about 16 miles north of where I live. Here's a copy and paste of the news story:

MADISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A man, whose name was not released as of 11:30 Thursday night, was holed-up in a home at the corner of Davis Crossing and Way Roads in Madison County, north of Canton.
Authorities were called to the scene about 3:30 p.m. in response to a disturbance call. Sheriff Randy Tucker says one man pulled a gun on another during this dispute, which had been on-going prior to Thursday. When the authorities arrived, he retreated into his home and "fortified his position."
Authorities believe the man has a high-powered rifle and there appeared to be canisters with wire around the outside of the house, possibly said to be explosives.
Several law enforcement agencies were involved including the Madison County Sheriff's Office and the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Both agencies had their SWAT Teams on site. Also on the scene, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Madison Police Department and Madison County Emergency Operations.
Authorities are familiar with the man in the house as they had been called there in the past.
Law enforcement's objective, according to Sheriff Tucker, was a "peaceful resolution of the situation with no one getting hurt."
Negotiators from the Madison County Sheriff's Department were trying to talk with the man to try and end the siege

So there's, at minimum, 50 people outside this guy's house, watching him.

He ESCAPES, and now they can't find him.... Seriously?

It doesn't. This article is from last night, he escaped sometime early this morning. I just didn't bother copying and pasting the new story.

In other words...there is no standoff anymore. Therefore, the term "escaped" is relatively important.

How are you trying to turn this on Jeff? You posted a news article which made NO mention of the guy escaping. You then made a comment about 50 guys surrounding the house and he still escapes. No mention of this in the article what so ever. We are just supposed to take your word for this little detail? How about you post the next part of the story below the original one or atleast a link to back up your claims about him escaping.

I think you missed your calling as a politician. You only post what you want us to read and then expect us to take your word for the rest of the story

Don't know, they haven't said anything about them yet.

@trimmer: since there's no information on this yet, there's no article for me to link to, or C&P from, so you'll just have to believe me on this one, ok?

Dont be so touchy man. I was just wondering why you posted an old news story I guess. I read the article 3 times and it never said anything about an escape. It musta been to much work to copy/paste another updated paragraph I guess.

Seriously, Paul? The article where they said he escaped was all of 5 sentences long. I almost C&P'd it, but I didn't even bother, because my whole point of making this post was about the guy getting away from 5 different law enforcement agencies when they were surrounding his house.

So, you just didn't BELIEVE me when I said he escaped? You wanted irrefutable evidence that I was telling the truth, instead of just taking my word for it? Wow. So I guess if I ever complain about the weather, I better include a link to the Weather Channel so you'll see I'm not lying about it raining hard.

I missed that one....thought I'd posted the date. It's not an old story. The standoff was last night, he escaped somewhere around 3 this morning.

    Re: Police standoff. (MississippiBoy)

Maybe I could have worded my above post a little better but my point wasn't exactly about how we don't believe you when you post something. There was NO mention of the escape in the article and then YOU got all bent out of shape when you were questioned about it. Accusing him of not being able to read.

No biggie man... I will drop it as it doesn't matter. My apologies if I pissed you off
