This is north of Canton, MS, about 16 miles north of where I live. Here's a copy and paste of the news story:
MADISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A man, whose name was not released as of 11:30 Thursday night, was holed-up in a home at the corner of Davis Crossing and Way Roads in Madison County, north of Canton.
Authorities were called to the scene about 3:30 p.m. in response to a disturbance call. Sheriff Randy Tucker says one man pulled a gun on another during this dispute, which had been on-going prior to Thursday. When the authorities arrived, he retreated into his home and "fortified his position."
Authorities believe the man has a high-powered rifle and there appeared to be canisters with wire around the outside of the house, possibly said to be explosives.
Several law enforcement agencies were involved including the Madison County Sheriff's Office and the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Both agencies had their SWAT Teams on site. Also on the scene, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Madison Police Department and Madison County Emergency Operations.
Authorities are familiar with the man in the house as they had been called there in the past.
Law enforcement's objective, according to Sheriff Tucker, was a "peaceful resolution of the situation with no one getting hurt."
Negotiators from the Madison County Sheriff's Department were trying to talk with the man to try and end the siege
So there's, at minimum, 50 people outside this guy's house, watching him.
He ESCAPES, and now they can't find him....Seriously?
