Does the iPad have its own GPS receiver? I thought you had to have cell coverage to get google maps to work....

Anyway I know a couple of guys that are experimenting with that setup too.

how did you mount the snap bracket that comes with the defender series for the ipad to the dash. I just may do this with my ipad and buy a basemap model graph.

it is mounted with 3 screws and that is more than enough it is very secure and steady
