Prop selection for 225 etech H.O.

I currently have a 27P tempest and it performs good for top speed and good hole shot when the boat is not loaded down. I was looking for a four blade prop to get a better holeshot with a heavy load and not two concerned with top speed as we run out of lake anyway here in most of the lakes of CA. With the tempest I've got it up to 75GPS with the stock prop, no rework and RPM's are at 5,800. I heard very good things about the TRO 04 27P for hole shot and all around performance with a tourney load and full livewells. My dealer only has a demo High five 25P and said I can try that first, but they don't have much experience with the TRO prop or a demo to try. I was thinking about just ordering it based on others here on the board saying this was a very good prop. Any suggestions would be great, the boat is a 2005 21X triton with standard 6" jackplate.

26 Trophy would probably be your best bet if you are talking about absolutely full of stuff in the boat. A 27 Trophy would also work, but it still may not give you the holeshot you want. Those are pretty plentiful so you should be able to find one that someone will let you try.

What PVS plugs do you have in the Tempest prop?

Three bladed props tend to do better (most of the time) on the 225HO.

I have to agree w/ Kenneth on this statement and my rig. The 27 Tempest Plus launches me w/ a good hole shot compared to my reworked 26 Raker, however, I've only run it once since I mounted it. I need to dial it in so that I can reach the top speed I realized w/ the Raker.

Regardless, it sounds like a 26 Trophy or TRO-4 might me your answer. Let us know what you go with.

I'm pretty sure I have the PVS plugs are dialed in they are the ones with the medium size holes in them and the prop bites very well. I've tried to take one out but it creates too much slip and blows out when getting on plane. Again speed is not an issue as our top speed on most of the lakes around here is 35MPH anyways, so I'm looking for a really good hole shot and good performance at low speeds. Even though the speed limit is 35 most people don't follow that as they don't enforce it very often so I tend to go around 50 or less most the time.
