Guys and Gals, I want to ask a favor ....

UPDATE ON 2/2/12 post

This is a young friend of mine. She Has chosen to go into the MS National Guard MP Unit.


Savannah is around 19 so I don't think a bunch of old guys want to nor should write her but you children and grandchildren could ! Pictures, cards, funnies ect.

Savannah is a small town girl and she's really feeling the effect of being away from family. She's only got 60 or so more days in basic then it'll be off to where ever to do the MP training. She's hanging on by a thread I'm afraid.

She would just be tickled to get a pile of mail !

Damn shame an old retired service member can support her at war in Afghanistan, pray for her safety every day but would be frowned upon for dropping a line of encouragement.

I agree completely!!!

I think it would be OUTSTANDING if some of our VETERANS could write her and give her words of ENCOURAGEMENT!!! Very brave young lady to join up in this day and age.

You apparently have some issues. It sounds like you joined for the "rewards" firstly yourself. Life...and work...are what you make of it.


As for "old guys" encouraging a soldier...it's allright to send a note to a 19 year old guy...but not a girl?

I reenlisted while in the Desert Storm war zone. Never thought twice. I feel that my service was a contribution and hers will be too. I will write an encouraging letter from my family.
