Hello y'all,
My XP is acting up again. It got to the place it doesn't want to idle on the hose. The first thing I found was a leaking primer bulb. Replaced the bulb with a new BRP bulb, mounted it almost vertical with arrow pointing to the engine. Also, I replaced a new water separator/filter along with new 3/8" gas line from the filter canister to the engine. It will start and run at a fast idle and then settle down and run for two or three minutes then starts to stutter and miss running on one or two cylinders and the bulb will go soft. I can pump the bulb and it will start to run on all six again.
Out on the river it will be a lot harder to start than usual after getting it started it will run ok to my favorite fishing spots. After shutting it down to fish for a spell. It will be harder to get going again. I have to use the primer to get it going I never had to do that unless it was a cold start at the first start of the day. I never had to prime it again after the first start of the day. After getting running it will go like a bat out of Haiti's. Only once the bulb went soft on the river and it started to run on about two cylinders and shut off. Pumped up the bulb, she fired up ran like a top for the rest of the day.
One more thing as I ramble on. While it's idling on the hose it will smoke at different rates. Sometime there is almost no smoke and then at time it smokes like a bandit and then back down to and acceptable level of smoke.
