    How many Alabama Rigs?

Im just like every other bass angler here, and will probably have a dozen of these A- rigs in the boat... But the big ? is, how many different Companies or Lure makers are making the A-rigs, and who makes the best one? Hope i get a lot of replies, This could get good...And i could use the advise...

Lots of companies make them but Heavycover make the best one.

I bought a couple from a guy on ebay to try out before i spent $25 on one, then I was fishing a couple of weeks ago and found a guy that had a version I've never seen before with a bend between the head and the swivels that had a second set of swivels with interchangeable spinner blades on them. The thing worked like a charm.

Haven't tried their umbrella rigs yet but if they are anything like the heavy cover spinnerbaits then they are awesome!

I hear ya Bruce. I am usually hesitant to jump on a bandwagon too but these things really work well. I cant wait to use them during pre spawn.

Ordered a couple to try. As good as these things have been proven to be on largies, I think they will really shine on lakes where smallmouth dominate. I was planning on buying some HC spinnerbaits to try anyways, so I killed 2 birds with on stone with that order.

Thanks Brandon. I'm also waiting to see reports from those up north smallies.

Re: How many Alabama Rigs? (egandy)

Having sold over 1000 of them, would have to say I make a pretty good Umbrella rig myself. Have sold 6 dozen to Sportsman Warehouse in the past 5 days and they are already asking for more. Have another load I am hauling that way tomorrow.

    Thanks

OK, I'll bite Eric...just ordered 4 from your website.

I fish mostly clear-water lakes in upstate NY, and I'm hoping the smallies will whack the hell out of this.

I'll keep you posted in the spring!

Do you make any 3 hook types....seems Missouri only allows 3 at a time??? Still having a hard time finding this info in the Missouri DNR Fishing Regs.

Re: How many Alabama Rigs? (JP198)

It's been thrown some, I know pro Ken Golub has been whacking them on Conesus with it this fall even with water temps in the low 40s. It should really shine on the finger lakes, especially with those hard to catch suspending smallies. They love to suspend in the summer and fall in the rivers as well, so I have plenty of ideas of where/when to use it for the brown fish. Interested in giving it in a shot this spring, although the lakes haven't froze up yet and I'm wondering why I winterized my boat. It was 50 degrees Saturday.

Re: How many Alabama Rigs? (bschwoep)

Yes, I make them in 3, 4 and 5 wire. Just got done paint 50 of the 3 wire ones and have them in my hot box as I type.

Thanks and please feel free to give me a shout if there is anything you need or that I can help with.

Re: How many Alabama Rigs? (Joey Watts)

I will have to say Joey's rigs are the best by far. They are bullet proof. I really like the wire dia. and length.
