    Castable Fluorocarbon on Spinning tackle

I don't want to waste anymore money on fluorocarbon that states it has little or no memory for spinning gear.I've tried most of them, and they all get an F from me. Wondering if anyone has tried and liked or disliked the new Sufix castable invisiline fluorocarbon on spinning gear. Would like to hear from you. Spent to much money and have been very disappointed.
P.S. Anyone know when the Gamakatsu Saiko series swivel will be availiable?

What kind of reel are you using?
What kind of presentations are you using it for?

I tried fluoro on a spinning reel about 4 years ago. I didn't like it at all. It just fell off the reel and was hard to cast. Seemed to me it tangled a lot. Maybe now, there have been more improvements made in fluoro. I only use fluor for leader material. Usually use Seagaur.

I gave up and I've gone to using braid with a flouro leader.

THIS ^^^^^ I do this for everything. I even do this at Dale where the water is super clear. I just put an extra long leader on.

Re: Castable Fluorocarbon on Spinning tackle (RoadrashPaul)

    For a spinning reel.
12lb test, or smaller preferably, Berkley (Vanish, Transition, or 100%).
Spool it up, stop 1/16" from the top.
Prior to using it, Set boat at idle speed, run out darn near all of it and drag it behind the boat for 5min.
Reel in 50 turns and squirt a shot of some KVD conditioner, or Silicone spray on the spool. Repeat every 50 turn.
Put boat in neutral when it's all spooled up again.
Tie on lure and proceed to use.
Cup hand losely around spool when casting (like a larger bail, gets to be habit).
Close bail manually with hand, and keep an eye on the line/tangles. (gets to be habit).

For Berkley, use a medium or lighter action rod. This will prevent knot "shock" when setting the hook and you won't be cussing the line due to break-offs. I like Berkley line, but, most don't. It won't take a hard hookset "shock".

There isn't much of a need to cross-eyes when using a spinning outfit spooled up with florocarbon anyway.

When the spool is new and 1/16" full full, expect a big ass tangle knot within the 1st couple of hours. Cut it out, cuss a bit, and get back to fishing. Your spool is just right then, and you probably won't get any more tangle knots.

I do that, and I don't get broke off. I'll use the same line for several months, or longer.
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

Thats all good info Danny but I have to ask WHY??? Why go through all of that when you can just use braid w/leader and not have to worry with it. I get very few tangles and I have been using the same line all year. I am planning to pull it off and put it on the other way and use it all next year and then replace.

Braid will freeze to the bail roller and to the guides, so fast ya just can't fish slowly.
You get snagged using braid, you're snagged.
I don't like one more knot. I have VERY seldom thought line mattered to fish. You can almost double strength with braid and it's thinner than mono/floro. I'd much rather use braid and figure if a fish could see thread and be turned off....he'd probably object to a fatter mono or floro also.
Floro sinks....so so slowly....That's one of the reasons I use it.

I use braid anytime I can, most of the year, but, I don't leader it.
And, the question was about floro?

I guess I haven't fished it when it was that cold outside. Haven't noticed any freezing.
With the leader it will break off so it is not an issue to me.

Yes the question was about floro. I was just wondering why you go through all of that to fish floro when IMO braid with a floro leader works just as well. To each their own and if that is what you like and want to do... GO FOR IT

Re: Castable Fluorocarbon on Spinning tackle (RoadrashPaul)

Don't like to break off Visions. Many times that little bit of stretch/snap is all it takes to free one.
Most of my floro use in the winter, and you just can't use braid for a slow stop go pause retrieve if water is freezing in the guides. Braid hangs on to water better, it'll freeze your line together in the spool when it's brrrrrr

Now, I also use Floro quite often when big jig fishing, deep, in the rocks. Seems the stretch keeps the jig sorta bouncing? Braid gives you so much better feel, but, I stick jigs in rocks lots more with braid.
Mono might be better, but, I've heard you lose even more "feel". Don't know for sure, been years since I've used any mono.
Most of time, Most of the year....I'll use braid anytime I can.

Have you tried using higher end flouro like Tatsu or Blackwater? Its expensive, but you can back fill you reel and only use 75-100 yards of the good stuff at a time. Plus by the time you find line you like, youll have paid more for that than you would one spool of high end line.

I like braid with a leader, but there are times, mostly when its cold and windy that i wish i didnt have to retie my leaders. Also, certain applications work better with direct flouro.

Wacky rig senkos and shakey head worms. Diawa medium priced spinning reel handles 8 to 12lb test.

Seauger 6 to 8 pound floro

I've had problems with all other floros. And, was about to give up when someone suggested Seauger. No problems!

I use Seaguar Invisix or Sunline FC, i always spray it with conditioner and the day before i go fishing i stretch the line out. To stretch it out i put a nail in my deck of my porch and tie a swivel around the nail, that way it will get most of the twist out of the line also while i am stretching it out.

    Re: (Nitro Bob Rourke)

Go with lighter line or bigger reel. I am not saying he is right, and I know he could spool up new before every fishing trip, but I have seen video of KVD talking about him using Bass Pro flouro only on his spinning reels with no leader.

Seguar InvisX has been working great on my spinning outfits. Have had no issues with coiling or knotting up. 8 pound is what I've been using.
