    prop size?

Hiya People...I,m in Australia and have recently bought a stratos pro 200xl 2006 model with a 225 optimax , doing prop trials i can get 70.2 mph with a 25p tempest or 72.2 mph with a 24p 4blader but has terrible holeshot. I Am contemplating a 26 tempest plus...What do u guys think?...cheers Cheg

Go to the stratos forums, those guys should be able to tell you what works and what won't... and welcome to the forums!

If you are running a Tempest + .......try opening the vent plugs to see if that helps the holeshot. I run a 25 Tempest + with one large plug and the other two vents wide open. What is your RPM whe you are getting at wide WOT?

The 26 will most likely slow the holeshot even more with the boat as it is now.

Thanks guys, the 4 blader couldnt get past 1800 rpm outa the hole, the 25 tempest is really good but just pops the rev limiter solo....reckon it could spin a 26 and still get outa the hole ok?....have played with the plugs as well before...helps heaps with holeshot..just interested to know what u guys run on yours?..it can get pretty hot here and have had holeshot probs with an opti before when its really hotweather in tournament trim: i.e. 2 guys ,gear , and livewells...cheers

If you are hitting the limiter with the 25 then the 26 might be the answer.
Maybe you could get it worked to help the holeshot. (Have read about worked props) but don't have one. I tried a 24 but had to go back to the 25 because of too many RPM with the 24.
Good luck hope you can get figured out.

Try posting here maybe you will get more answers.

You need to talk to Sterling, BlueSteel, or Glen B. They set Sterlings boat up. His boat is the same model and I believe the same motor. He had his running I believe 76 maybe 78mph. He was running the 27 tempest.
