I'm thinking about picking one up for the wife but will more than likely get her a Judge so aiming is not as much of an issue. They are nice little pistols for the price.

I bought one in August. Kind of bought it for the wife. She did shoot it. I think she should stick with the shotgun. You might want to clean it before you shoot it. Make sure you get the extra clip that is longer. I like the safety features.
I had trouble with the first round until I cleaned it.The slide did not close the first round.

(old article, ammo availability is different now, but penetration is still the same... and they still only stick 3 pellets into a 2.5" 000 buck 410 shell...)
Ran 50 though this afternoon, first couple clips were all over. Got it zero'ed and groupings were getting smaller at 20 yards. It shots good for a small frame carry gun. In all very happy with it.![]()
20 yards is a long distance for a short gun, if you ever have to use it it'll be within 15 feet. So if your getting a good group @ 20 yards you'll do OK if needed
If you purchase one for your wife, check to be sure she is able to cycle the slide. These small Rugers have very stiff springs & can be hard to cycle for women. Great guns otherwise!![]()

Next time at the range I will run a couple more clips at 20yrds then start working backwards. Not sure if I do right but I usually zero at 20yrds then work backwards from there to 5 yards with ccw guns. I am sure better way to get comfortable but just the way I do it.
Neat little gun! It's basically a scaled up LCP built to handle the 9mm instead of a .380 ACP. I'm actually considering getting one, but just can't seem to justify the need for an external safety on a DAO gun.
How's the trigger pull on it? Does it take a lot of pressure or is it pretty sensitive?
I bought one earlier this year for a CCW, ideal for carrying in the small of the back. I found that out of the box it tended to shoot slightly to the right and down a bit, Now that I have it dialed in I'm very impressed with it. Enjoy shooting it more than my Baretta, also in 9mm.
I bought a Springfield XD-40 this week. It's a little larger than the LC9 but not that much when you lay them on top of each other. I got the sub-compact model. Can't wait to run a few clips through it....

Today at the range Spingfield was there for Demo's. I ran 10 rounds through the xd40, that is a great gun. Very smooth trigger pull and good weight. You are going to love that gun.
i like the lc9 alot. Have handled it a few times, and read some really good reviews about it! Wouldnt mind having one at all

That is an incorrect statement. Aiming is very much an issue even with that judge. I suggest having her shoot one first. Recoil is heavy on the judge. Take a look at the shot pattern also.
