    Vicious Pro Elite

Ordered some last week and had my first chance to test it out today. Got to say it is one of the best fluros I've used regardless of the price. You can get this stuff for much less than some of the others and it is GREAT. Give it a try when you can.

Have they fixed the Breakage problem from when the Floro 1st came out a few years ago?

As long as I dont tie a polamar (sp) knot I am good to go.

the pro elite (red box is some super great stuff. I use it on any lure where a good feel is needed such as jigs and plastics. I use the regular vicious (green box) for moving baits such as cranks, spinnerbaits, ect. The green box is a little stiff but the red box is very limp and supple and has a great pop feel to it when you get a strike. Some other FC lines have a dead feel to them like they soak up the shock of the bite but the pro elite has a hard pop that reverbs through the goides into the blank and to the reel and you hand. I have tried alot of different FC lines and to me the vicious I like the best. Just my 2 cents worth.

    Re: Vicious Pro Elite (spiffey28694)

Doesn't that defeat the purpose if you have to learn to tie a new knot just becuase the line Breaks if you do???

So was that there fix? told people to tie another knot

BTW......most of my Breaks were not at the knot......they were on casting and mid-line breaks due to inconsistancy in manufacturing.....and NO I did not have any backlashes or line twist that would ahve casued it. It was freshly spooled right off the bulk spools & broke within about 12 casts.

Once this happens a few times you begin to loose confidence in certain products. It may be OK now.....but I lost confidence in it & that in itself is going to hard to get back.

    Re: Vicious Pro Elite (R.D.)

I lost confidence in the original vicious fc pretty much because so many people on BBC said it sucked. In my own experience I used it for 2 years and didnt have any problems with it other than it was kinda stiff... So much was said about it I got leery, fearing I would eventually come across a bad spool so I switched even though that never actually happened. Funny how other people can sway an opinion. I like what I use now so probably won't go back to vicious brand and it is virtually the same price but I may give the pro elite a try sometime just for fun if I can get a good price on it

The Elite is excellant flourocarbon. It is really limp and strong. However, I still use the original more than the Elite. My favorite is the 15lb test. It is great for all around use.

I caught a 45lb flathead catfish last month on the 8lb Elite while fishing with anyother BBC'er. It took over 20 minutes.

I use a palomar knot 90% of the time.

    Re: Vicious Pro Elite (Fiddlefarter)

Josh...................I agree with you 100%. but I can assure you I got several trial spools from a Staffer & tried it out. I actually liked it enough that I bought 3-1000yd spool of the Ultimate Coplymer & several fillers of the Floro to find out on my own the stuff was inconsistant.

Matter of fact I actually posted in the Products forum when I 1st got it saying how good it was for the cost of it. It did not take me long to come to my own Conclusion about the 1st runs of floro.......but its still in back of my mind.....if ya know what I'm sayin

Other than that I still have most of the "Ultimate Coplymer" left & still using it on most of my reels (other than those I put XPS Floro on).

I would be willing to give another try but hard for a person to get out of that way of thinking long enought ot trust it fully.........Especially when the market is so FULL of comparable products

    Re: Vicious Pro Elite (triton_rzrbak)

I have been using the Pro Elite since it came out. I used the other stuff before that. I even tie it with a palomar knot and have never had an issue. The main thing is when tying the knot make sure you keep the lines from crossing

Original Vicious.... What's the best way to put this???? SUCKS! But Vicious Pro Elite is awesome. I use it exclusively for everything under 15# test. Over 15#, I prefer Seaguar Red Label because it seems to be a little more flexible.

No breakage issues at all with the Pro Elite. Use a palomar knot and make sure to spit it up good before slowly cinching it. No fluorocarbon is going to handle the friction you put on it with a cinch knot or if you don't tie it correctly. At least none that I have tried.

I do that no matter what line I am tying.....mono is a bit more forgiving but I've still had it happen with Big Game before too. I was a big Silver Thread guy for a long time too......but like I said I bought the Ulitmate Colymer and have not had any problems with it. Evn watching my line when tying knots

Thank you for the unsolicited testimonial. Seriously, I may give it a try as I've yet to find a fluoro that I like for anything other than leader material.

Ive used it a few times flippin. Seems much more managable vs the original. I quite using the original because it was difficult to control in the heavier weights.

I have never used the elite, but have used the green box for two years and have never had a problem. It is a little stiff but a shot of KVD line conditioner and it is good to go. I will have to give the elite a try. I like berkley 100% also, never once had an issue with it either.

    Re: Vicious Pro Elite (xranger77)

I must be weird....I liked the original floro from Vicious (15lb), but don't like the 17lb Pro Elite that I currently have - feels stiff and wirey. I found something else that I like better, so that will be on all my floro rods this spring. To each his own, tho.

    PS..LOVE the Ultimate!
