Anyone been there yet? It's a little early and I always tell myself not to bother with the river until after April 15th but I've got the itch. There are quite a few places to get out of the high water unless it's just running over the dikes etc. Any ramps open? Palisades? City? Big Slough? Michelson's. I haven't heard a word from anyone up that way yet.
haven't been up that way yet. but down here on pool 17 it is ugly. some big ol trees making the spring migration down the river
I imagine the wind kept most everyone home today. Brutal!!

I would be out if my boat wasn't in the shop! Its killing me not having it. I have a rocsters tournament next weekend so we'll see what happens. Normally some of the biggest fish I catch all year are before april 15th, but I don't normally catch a ton.
You guys generally go out of Big Slough don't you? I don't know if I've ever seen water high enough to close that ramp.

Yes they have closed that ramp down for sure. Ramps are still open on 13 so far.

This year we were planning on going out of palisades, but who knows with the water. I didn't think it normally took much to put that ramp under.
Yeah I was low on power. I checked compression and spark last fall and it looked good. I changed the fuel filters and part of the fuel line with the bulb and still no good. Last time I took it out I noticed that the primer bulb was sucked completely flat so I took it to Bobs marine in bellevue. He thinks its some kind of fuel line restriction and should get to it sometime this week.
It doesn't take too much water to get up into the lot at Palsades so who knows what could happen. Could be a bunch of rain up north tonight.
Good that the motor wasn't anything serious. Bob's will get you going. Probably just a little debris on the tank inlet or crimped/blocked vent line.
I sure hope its something that easy! Good thing about this time of the year is you don't really need to prefish. lol I have a few spots that can be good, but for size of fish there is only an area or 2 and I don't plan on going far from savanna. lol so as long as I have it back on sat I'll be happy.
Good luck on Sat. I'm sure you know where the big fish live. Just have to get 1 or 2 good bites and that bag will get heavy in a hurry.

Thanks, keeping my fingers crossed its done! lol, if your ever intersted you should come to 1. You don't win much, but the guys are all great and its just fun. I figure I'm probably going to be out fishing anyway so why not try to win some money. lol

Its normally the same 7 every time and in my experience we have had up to 12. Trying to get some more interest. There is more members, but a lot of their schedules only allow them to fish 2 or 3 of them. I started a website this year to get them out there and hopefully this year we can average 10-15.

yep thats the main thing and normally I have a really good time. Not any pressure like other tournaments, but still a good chance to win a little money and some trophies.
Why not try gateway also? I heard you have been going to some of the meetings.

I'll be doing gateways this year with 1 of the guys I met at the rocsters. I have been going to all of the meetings. Between Adam and Randy I can't use the excuse that I forgot cause they are pretty good at reminding me.Will you be doing them this year? I did them when I started bass fishing 4 years ago, but couldn't afford it the last few years, but 4 years ago they had really good turnouts. I guess last year they only averaged like 10-12 boats.
Nope not this year, might sub for Scott or Adam like I did BWS last year but thats about it for me, I think I'm going to eat them all this year if I can get out
