    going to Keokuk.

The first week of May, 6 of us will be coming down for our annual golf outing to nouvoo. Need to know if bringing a boat would be wise this time of year? The last time we thought about it you had flooding going on, Is that "normal"?

    Re: going to Keokuk. (fishrgolf)

Yea pretty normal anymore. This year the average river stage was about 15ft, which is right at flood stage for Burlington. River was between 13-18 ft about all year.

Best thing would be to watch the river stage. Usually in may its around 13-14 ft but depends on snow run-off up north. You can fish the southern end of the pool fine until the stage gets over 16 ft at burlington, after that it gets high and muddy down there. Ideal for the upper part would be 14 ft or less...

I'm going to say it will be flooded this year with all the snow MN/WI has gotten so far but I'm not related to the weather channel or any of those liars. lol
