    Long road back but I'm getting there! Finally got to where I'm at least finishing where I used to start. Shoulders always hurt like hell but I'm starting to like the results. I'm hoping that by the February I'll be back to starting out with 240 for 10. (Maybe next year I won't take the entire spring and summer off )

    Good job Joe keep up the good work, sorry I did not get back sooner but I have been putting a lot of hours in at work Been a lot of people off and some shut downs, it been hell. looks like it will be like this till the end of the year.

    Apparently I need to start working in legs a bit. Went deer hunting (for the first time ever ) and my legs are SORE!!!

    Coulda done more reps but my spotter was very aggressive, if I told him I was gonna try and get six he'd grab it as soon as I got six . Still improving though, first plateau should be looming around any corner though

    Hit a bit of a wall. Been super busy the past two weeks with the holidays so I've been neglecting the workouts. Back after it this week. Working in cardio now as well. Starting the deadlifts this week too. Three months to get into shape (or at least a shape other than round ).

    Start doing some real heavy board work, make sure you have a strong spotter, I promise you that will get you over the hump or kill you

    What the hell is "board work"??? Started the deadlifts tonigh. Not posting numbers though . Went light to get the feel back, will start hitting them hard next week. Was really expecting some big time tightening since I hadn't done them for well over a year but it actually felt good.

    We have talked about board work before I'm sure, call sometime so I can explain. You using a straight bar for the dead lifts?? Not sure if the place your at has a trap bar, but that's the safest way to dead lift, but with everything there is a right way and a wrong way to use the bar.

    your an animal Joe. I assume your talking bench press. Its been forever since I've lifted anything, but when I was in high school I lifted occasionaly and could get around 210, but haven't touched a weight in years. Going to start again though, I get a 50% discount at the YWCA from my new job, so I'm going to take advantage.

    If I were an animal I would have been weeded out by natural selection. Got my strength back but my cardio is still dismal . I'm so frigging fat right now I break a sweat while tying my shoes, and I grunt a lot while doing it . Not worried though, will cut the pounds before it warms up. And yeah, that's bench. This is the first time in probably two or three years that I've committed to the weights.

    270 - 1 I really think I could've gotten another rep here but I felt a slight twinge in my shoulder and decided to play it safe.

    I just got back from the gym. I have no idea what the machine is exactly called, but it looks like the 1 pictured but not inclined. I did 240 3 times. Not bad for the first time in the gym in ever. I need to learn more about this stuff. I fealt dumb there.

    The worst part about getting back into the gym is feeling like a puss. I hated going back in last fall and easing back into it. I started out very light because I knew the initial soreness was gonna be bad. Glad I stuck with it though. Now I just need to stick with it once the weather turns nice. Every year I work out until the weather turns then I disappear from the gym
