Coralville Res update, as if anyone will actually read this

Now I know the res doesn't have the most spectacular reputation, but I however fish it fairly often. Fished on Sunday morning and it was rain, rain and more rain. Fishing was decent, managed five keepers, two over three pounds (I was out for less then four hours). As usual with the res you have to go through a ton of small fish to find a keeper, so I had my fair share of smaller ones. I did notice that last year after the flood waters went down, the smaller fish are as wide as they are long and that has carried over to this year as well so apparently they are well fed. They are the healthiest looking I have seen in years which is hopefully a trend that will continue.
Buzzbait, crankbaits and carolina rig off the points all worked well.

Even though most of you won't even think of fishing here I thought I'd post this in case someone was thinkin about it.

Wow, I just figured that was the dead sea anymore. Good to hear there's some bass to be caught there. Not sure if I'm ready to head back out there just yet though, especially when MacBride is right around the corner from there. Keep me posted though, you've got my interest!

I will keep you informed. Only problem I have with Macbride is the motor restriction. I know people say if you keep no wake you won't have any problems. Do you pay attention to the motor restriction?

I just started fishing it last year. But yes, I follow the motor restriction (so far ). It's really not too bad because there's enough ramps on the lake that I can put in fairly close to where I want to fish. If worse comes to worse I can pull the 'ol "stand at the trolling motor while partner idles us to the next spot" trick. Good thing E-Tecs are quiet

The numerous boat ramps around Macbride sure is handy. I'll have to remember your trick when I'm searching for my new boat, that's a good one. You just started fishing it last year? You've stumbled upon a good fishery especially since they did the lake over a few years ago. However when they had the lake drained to 1/3 of its normal size it was some fantastic fishing!

Dunno why I never fished it before last year. Just never heard anything good about it so I never gave it any consideration. I'm glad I started though. That lake is a lot of fun!
