    Ficht De-Carb Procedure?

Ok I have searched and searched and have not found a good sequence for de-carbing a Ficht. My mech told me to shoot 2 sec burst into each opening with airbox removed. Then flood all cylinders until it stalls. Well this is where I ran into a prob. No matter how much I sprayed in she would not stall so I just shut er down. Is this ok or have I done it wrong? By the way I was using the Tuner from BRP.

    Tks,
    Tim

I think ya have done right! Tha gurus will correct me if i'm wrong. The main thing is not to rev the DI motors when on the hose. Wake her up in the morning and run her or put it on the hose and clean her out!!!

The mechanic should have said stutter not stall. You cant stall a ficht with one cylinder, or even two cylinders. You can't get enough into all the cylinders at one time to kill it with the spray can. After the restart, let it runn for at least 5 minutes, then install new spark plugs that you will index properly. If you do not index them properly, it'll sound like an optimax, we can't have that.

Just watch out for bringing it to a fast idle on the muffs, with no back pressure the motor will go beserk. CM

Thats the problem I had. When de-carbing I would try to keep the motor at a high idle, it would idle slow and I would bump the throttle and it would try to rev way up. I would pull the throttle back and it would go back to a slow idle. This continued for the entire 15 minutes or so that I ran the motor to clean it out.

How bad is the spray, I was planning on doing it on the water next time so I didn't have to go thru that again.

I decarbed mine 2 weeks ago, probably had about 10 hours on a new/rebuilt power head and I got just about zero carbon out of it. think I need to replace the plugs? Motor is starting and running great, spent 4 days at Guntersville last week so I got to run it more than I would have here
