Aquatic Planting in 16, 17, and 18

Our club is working with the US fish and wildlife department to try and get some aquatic vegetation establish in these pools. They are providing seed and barrakades and we are providing labor. If anyone wants to get involve with these please post. They want to do it near the end of this month. We are going to try something small this year and if all goes well we will be doing some major projects. Joe, you ott to drum up some guys from your club too, this will benefit you guys as much as us. Once upon a time these pools looked like the ones up north and down south and Pool 17 was the best fishing on the river. You guys want more fisheries thats are closer, well how about a 80 mile long one.

I mentioned to my kids this week that I remembered when I was a kid my Dad used to take me fishing on pool 17. We used to go down to the breaks and over the levee. Lily pads and weeds!!! Hopefully someday my kids can go fishing on 17 and see the pads too. Made a world of difference. Pool 17 has been a huge disappointment (for me anyway) for quite a while now.

When I started it was a OK day if you caught 50 keeper (12" then) and you never had to leave the breaks. If we can get enough... and overwhelming amount of man power it will happen. The USFW have all the know how they just don't have the man power. We can make our pools green again and the only will only cost us a couple saturdays.
