Kill Switch problem

I installed a 1993 evinrude on a boat (Stratos) that had a 1999 Johnson, controls are made into the boat. I cut off the small connetors on the 1999 control harness & installed the large red connector & trim harness. Works great except I can not turn motor off by the key or kill switch. The black/yellow wire connection tests fine from motor to switch. When I test the kill or off function of the switch, it makes connection to the black/white wire to kill or stop the motor. But there is no black/white wire on the 1993 motor harness, where should the black/white wire go ? It seems like it should go to ground since it makes connection to the black/yellow wire.

Recheck your connections. I would have stepped up to the 96' and newer style harness,not back to the big red pain in the a-- plug.
