steerring backwards!

i own a 99 sprint pro tournament 277 and i recently had to replace the dual cable steering rack. I used the teleflex nfb dual cable rack system and it turns like butter but for some reason when i turn the wheel right, the boat goes left. And when i turn the wheel left the boat goes right. Does anyone have a solution to why the steering might be backwards, or what it did wrong.

Only way I can figure that to happen is you put the cables in the port side of the tilt tubes, instead of Starboard side????

I would say your rack and helm assembely is upside down. There is a rectangular piece on the helm end of the cables "the rack'' that bolts onto the helm, that piece should be mounted to the top of the helm. That is really the only way other way this could happen unless like Bassmeister said that could cause this to happen.
