Didn't know I needed to spend a thousand dollars on a camera to get a little friendly advice around this forum...sorry to interupt...![]()

Ok, I'll bite.
No, imho no one needs to spend a thousand dollars on a camera to get a little friendly advice.
If I remember correctly your original post was asking about a good camera in the $150 dollar price range.
I know some folks have bought $150 dollar cameras and been happy with them, but I haven't.
I probably went through 4-5 cheap cameras before I bought my first decent one, and in my opinion they all sucked. They were slow as shit and took crappy pictures. So therefor I couldn't personally recommend a "good" $150 camera for you. The only honest advice I could have given would be to save your money and use cell phone cameras until you could afford something a little nicer, and you probably didn't want to hear that, so I just didn't reply.
I'm not saying there's not a camera out there in your price range that you wouldn't be happy with, I'm just saying I don't know of one.
If your price range was say $300-$500, it'd be a whole different story.

Wow.... maybe some of us didn't respond because we didn't have any good advice for you. I could have went and done the same research you did and saw that some people like a particular camera and some hate it. Same thing you already came up with. I would have been no help. I also agree with Sneezy fully.
Probably the best advice I can give you is go to a store that sells them. Play with them all and buy the one you like the best.
Coops probably right about the cell phone pics. Heck, my wife has a decent little Olympus point / shoot cam and my Droid takes better photos.
Boatless Bank Trash for now
Well thanks for the responses... That is all I was looking for.. My limit is low at around $250.. wish I could spend the $$$ for an SLR but we just can't do it.. All the stuff you read makes it sound like some of the "middle of the road" cameras are actually a little better than the $100 ones but I just didn't know what I was looking at....
Again, I was just looking for honest , no frills, lay it on the line opinions if there was something better in my price range..
Thanks to you all for the responses.![]()
