Everybody on the lake is throwing one during a tx. And I mean every body.
Makes a person wonder how anybody caught a fish last year?

I agree. Looking at all the posts everywhere I think I will just sell all my tackle except the Alabama rig. Sure will save some money and weight in the boat! How did anybody catch a fish before this rig? You also have to wonder what will happen when the fish get used to this lure. Will we be throwing double Alabama rigs? Also, just think of all the shoulder surgeries people will be needing in the future after throwing this rig for a while.

It's not a cast. More of a controlled umph, toss, grunt.

Don't think this is something they'll "get used to". They may get used to some of the baits we use on it - change baits and it's an all new presentation. Bigger fish follow the bait balls waiting for small groups to separate - then they feed. It's instinct, not reaction. There will be seasons though that I think the effectiveness will drop and it's not a presentation for all waters. Personally I believe with all the focus and many states now regulating - it'll be a passing fad from a legal standpoint.
