Anybody heard anything about the Corp of Engineers closing parks on the river?

A friend of mine just called and said that his parents told him that come November Shoal Bay and Piney Bay will be shut down. Has anyone else heard this? His parents have camped there for years and I frequent Shoal Bay all through the spring and summer.

Maybe for maintenance OR, maybe for the "season".
But, they won't close Piney Bay. They just did a bunch of work (upgrades) to it.
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

I sure hope thats all it is. He was saying that it was due to lack of funding. These are my favorite places to fish because they are close to home.

They've been closing several of the areas on greeson for a few years in the winter for a few years now. Why just just turn electricity and water off and leave open. The corps still patrol them even though they are closed. Don't see the savings......

    Cleanup and maintenance.
Most parks close during the winter months.
Well, they block off the camping, bathrooms, elect, water, etc. And leave the ramp open.

Those blockades are just for tourists and play boat owners. As a bass fisherman, you are allowed to move them any time you see fit and launch your boat there.
