White Bass

Went to my local fishing hole and tried to catch schooling whites. Couldn't get them to hit what I was throwing. Tried Spook, R'Trap, White Fluke, Spinhead jig with fluke trailer, square billed crank, Pop R, little bitty spoon. Shad are less than 2 inches long. What should I have thrown to catch them?

Jim, I never thought I'd hear you say you couldn't catch schooling fish...

Try a clear spook or a two-tone bait (front different color than back). Either one looks like a smaller bait than what it is...

I can usually catch a few if everyone else is catching a bunch. How've you been?

I use the H2O small swimbait it works great!

if they won't bite bass lures, try a crappie jig

1/4 or 1/2 oz spoons will usually work well too.

Try a white roadrunner, little George, or Norman knock off

If you can't catch schooling white bass on a white or yellow rooster tail, you might as well sell all your fishing stuff.

I'm ready to sell all my stuff, and I can't NOT catch those darn things!

White Bass: The only fish I know that can get an ENTIRE super spook, and all it's trebble hooks, inside of a mouth no larger than a dime.

Oh, go out stricktly to catch white bass? Now that's a different story.
Best advice to catch them. Go black bass fishing. Never fails.

Try to catch whites - can't ever seem too. Catch whites while fishing for blacks - all the dabm time..... Them suckers love a squarebill or a fluke. Hell - I caught the biggest hybrid of my life with a jig and chunk on Hamilton off the only piece of wood cover sticking up in the lake.
