    raker prop question

Hey Guys I also posted this on the prop forum
    I bought a 14-1/2 x 24 raker on ebay
    I have a 2004 evinrude 150 ho.
When I recieved my prop part number on the box is 3855146
From what i can tell this is a cobra number .Spec prop is 394755
Although it looks identical to my current raker, is the 3855146 the same as the 394755
Can I use this prop on the 150 ho?
    Thanks Scott

Re: raker prop question (keowee bass)

Might have different # of splines. Slip it on and if it goes then run it. If it doesn't then have it rehubbed with a V6 outboard hub.

Chances of you finding two props that are identical (even two 24 Rakers) is a long shot. Props vary from one to another. The difference in numbers may just be from a difference in the year it was manufactured. Does it say Raker on the outside of the prop itself like the one you have now? If it fits your prop shaft, take it out and run it and see what happens.

    Re: raker prop question (1niceBlazer)

    Hey Jason
Thanks for the reply. Funny thing neither of my props say raker on them. The prop that came with the boat has # 394755 which is an omc raker #.
The prop I just purchased on E-bay a 14-1/2 x 24 Raker does not have Raker stamped in it either. However it has #3855146 stamped in hub. This is an omc raker for sterndrives acoording to what Ive read.
They look and measure the same although i cant tell pitch and cup by eye.
I assumed there was only one 14-1/2 x 24 raker stainless prop with a 15 tooth spline. Any way I just wanted to make sure it bwas okay to run and if perhaps they were the same.I will be taking it for a test run this week.

    Thanks again for the responce

    Scott,
I have a picture of a 24 Raker hub that I was selling on the Props forum. Would it help to compare to that?

    Re: raker prop question (MigAz)

thats exactly what the prop that came with my boat says
one on ebay that i bought looks axactly the same bot numbers are different.
Im just hoping performance will be the same because i should have asked brp number before buying. Im not trying to make a big deal of this Im just hoping I didnt throw money away
    silly me

    Thanks Scott

If it fits your prop shaft run it, But watch your RPMs!!!! A motor hitting tha limiter sounds ugly!!!

Also, ensure you have about 1/4" of clearance between the tip of the blade and the cavitation plate.
