We're you in the Marine Corps? Not much other reason to be from Beaufort..
My Sister and Brother in Law live out there, He's an active duty Marine, and my brother spent 4 years out there as well as an active duty Marine.

Starting in either April or May there are night tournaments held on Beaver Lake from Hickory Creek Marina on Tues, Thurs, and Friday nights. Seem like they start at 7 pm and end at 12 or 1am. Also, go down to Southtown sporting goods in Fayetteville and talk to those guys. They will know about most of the fishing clubs in the area.

yep i grew up in west plains, mo so i'm familiar with the ozarks area fishing, definitely alot better in ark. than where i was though, i can go fishing everyday for 2 weeks and not hit the same body of water twice and get some great fishing at all of them.
