I was finally out on the water yesterday after a loooooong winter, and was doing some setup on my ZX225 with 250 HPDI Phase III. I only got to run my new motor out once last fall before winter arrived and put an end to my year. First impressions were that it was noticeably faster and more responsive especially the hole shot and mid range!
I know a couple of people on here have played around with a similar setup and reached speeds in the low to mid 80's. Previously on my stock 225 the best i saw was 70.5mph with a 27P-T1 @ 5600 rpm and 25+ w/psi. I know that's lower than some speeds posted too.
More info on current Setup:
- Gas Tanks 2/3 full 38gal with fresh 94 Octane gas. (only other option is 91 here)
- 4 x 31 batteries
- Motor is mounted in 2nd holes from top with a 2.25" split in the 12" slidemaster JP.
- Plugs are clean and BKR7EKU
- Running at 77mph with a 27P-T1 turning 5850 rpms and 25+ w/psi
I know i need to get a much more accurate motor height which i hope to measure tonight but i'm gestimating that i'm at about 2.5 - 2.75 below pad. I tried a 29P-TXP with medium pvs plugs and the holeshot was slower and the rpms much lower at just barely over 5000 which is low.
I'm open to suggestions but i'll post my motor height asap if the rain stopsI'm pretty sure i need to come up to the 1.75-2" below pad area judging by other posts i've read.
