Fishing the river above the Jetta-Taylor Dam at Ozark?

I was born in Mountain Top in Franklin County and grew up fishing Mulberry River and the creeks around Ozark and was wondering how tough the river fishes around Ozark up to Fort Smith? I always here of the Little Rock Pool, Dardnelle and Pine Bluff but am a little nostaligic about the areas I fished as a kid and would like to bring my boat down sometime in the fall and give it a try as mostly now I fish Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Weigh in was 2:00 last weekend.
If it had been 3:00, I'd have locked up to the Ozark pool and never come back.
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

So I take it that their is bass in the Ozark pool. I was down their several years ago for a family reunion and noticed good looking water backed up into Gar Creek and also wondered if the River backs up very far into the mouth of Mulberry River up close to the town of Mulberry. Also how difficult is it to navigate. Thanks! Larry Brumley
