    Rod Reel Problems.

For the most part, I don't let problems compile.
When a bolts falls off my boat, The next day I take care of that problem and tighten the rest.
If I loose that favorite lure, the next day I'm finding two replacements.
If a trailer light goes out, the next day I'm replacing it and greasing the bearings.
If the clutch starts leaking in my wifes car, the next day I'm fishing (hey....)

But, rods and reels? I guess I let those problems stack up. With 10 of em in the boat, there's always another. Five are mine, and The other Five are Sharon's.
Only Five? To reduce the mess/clutter, If I fished a day with you, I'd probably only bring 2 rods with me....Just in case I break one.
I don't "so much" have specific rods for application. My rods and reels are more winter/summer divided.
I'll keep 4 summer rods and 6 winter rods in the boat during winter.
I'll keep 4 winter rods and 6 summer rods in the boat during summer.

I get out there this morning and decide I'm throwing a Frog, Regardless of catching anything or not....I'm GONNA FROG!

I ended up having to take parts off of two reels to make one work. Then put that reel on another rod, and then change the spool.

Then I broke my creation and came to work. It was either work, or, throw a vision 110 on pad stems.

I try to take all mine apart and clean them at least twice a year to keep that from happening. It only takes 30 to 45 minutes per reel.

    Re: Rod Reel Problems. (turkdaddy)

It's my once a year time to do that. 45min per reel is killin me right now. I cleaned, inspected, and greased two last night. Too two more broken ones and came up with another.
    Respooled all three.

Spent another 30min cleaning up a rod and polishing the guides (BBS is good stuff). The guides looked like a computer mouse wheel that hadn't been cleaned in a year, but, harder to get clean.
Re-epoxied a ceramic guide insert back in place on another rod.

Give me 8hrs more and I can go fishing again.

    Speaking of rods.
Monday night I spent several hours sitting on the deck of a Megabass wrapped boat. Speaking broken english very slowly with lots of hand gestures and playing with Megabass rods. Also trying to get my fingers free of those darn megabass hooks.

Best I can tell. Falcon and G-Loomis make a nice entry level "priced" rod.
These Megabass rods were the COOLEST rods I've ever seen!

What I mean by that, is knowing about a steel plate, means he has a head injury, and that would explain everything..

    DUDE!!...Dooood...dooed.. (like that beer commercial).

Anyway. I DON'T CATCH ANY BIG FISH. That's my wife.
    I'm just the guide.
She says "Take me to em and I'll catch em".
And, she has enough confidence, that, I could take her to swimming pool and say "this is the place, they are there"....and she'd drag out a 5lber hiding behind a recirculating grate.

She even steps on my rods and reels and breaks the handles IF I get lucky enough to snag one in the side of the head.
And I get to fix em.
