    Weather impact in NE Arkansas

Through the week as most of you know alot of areas were hit really hard here in Arkansas by the ice storms. As for the Northeast All (and i mean all) of the power in Paragould, Rector, Piggot, Marmaduke, Oak Grove, Beach Grove and Delaplaine was knocked off Tuesday night along with outages in other areas as well. Jonesboro had around 40% off.

As of tonight 60% of Pargould is up (and down occasionally). Jonesboro is pretty much up to my knowledge. As of last reports ,the areas of Piggot, Rector, Deleplaine, and Oak Grove still have no power and it may be up to 1 month before all is restored.

The National Gaurd and FEMA have been inacted as of last night to help out along with several hundred co-op energy personel from as far away as Georgia (at least one truck I saw today was from Atlanta)

Internet and phone service in all of these areas are also hit and miss.

Pray for those still without power and for those putting their lives on the line to help restore power.....

That everyone stays safe, and they get all the utilities, roads, etc straightened out up there soon.

We have been real lucky in N. La. for a good while now. I do know how it is when it happens though.

I live in Rector and it is bad. There are more power poles down than up. There are several crews working as hard as they can to restore the power. The rumors are from 2 weeks to as many as 6 weeks until all power is restored. My place looks like a tornado has hit, with trees and power poles down everywhere. I am on my son's computor now but as soon as I can I will post a few pics.
Please keep everyone in northeast Ark., and southeast Mo. in your prayers.

    Thanks
    Larry

Lost power around 9:00AM last Tuesday and got it back around the 3:00PM yesterday (Friday). We were lucky since some folks will be without power for another 3 weeks or more. Got our cable/internet back about 7:00PM this evening. Looks like a war zone here too. for those that remain without power, food, water, or decent shelter.

I am luck in a way, I have gas heat and water heater, and bought a generator for lights and fridge. The electrical service and cable has been pulled away from my house so I don't have any idea when that will be repaired. The priority is the main power service. I have all the tree limbs from around the service area so that should not be too much of a henderance to them when they do get there. Our place also looks like a war zone.

Re: Weather impact in NE Arkansas (lewjack)

I spoke too soon. Our power went back out yesterday afternoon after some idiot tree trimmer contractor from Missouri knocked down 3 sets of power lines in our county including ours. They obviously didn't know what they were doing so the police department here in Lakeview confiscated their bucket truck and cutting equipment. We probably won't have power again until this coming Saturday now because new overhead wires will have to be strung to replace what the hayseeds tore down.
