Degray Tourney

It was a small tourney we fished Saturday, only 7 boats. but we were more less prefishin for my nephew for todays get 5 tourney there. Blast off was at 7 and we had our limit by 7:40. We had 2 good Kentucks and 2 barely overs and a dink we couldnt get rid of. It was definetly a morning bite. We had around 8.5 pounds. 11.5 won it, and 10 somethin got 2nd. We stayed in the wind the most of the day as all our bites came off the windy side of the lake. bandit 300 cranks in 20 ft. of water and jigs was what the bites came on. It took 19 to win another tourney that was there yesterday, the same guy who had the 22 pound sack at the rusty hook last weekend had it, he definetly has a pattern goin right now. I dont think we were fishin deep enough, I talked to a few guys who fished other tourneys and they were in 40ft throwing into 20. Anyway, I havent heard what my nephew done today, but he was definetly goin to pull out a little more today.

What I have been told by the guy you are talking about and another that fished that tournament last weekend is fish deep. Points and any rock...about 25-30 foot of water.

We also fished Degray saturday I only caught one fish that was not in the slot on a jig. It took 16 lbs to win our tournament. The guy that won caught his fish on a red rattle trap on windy banks, his partner had big bass, a 5.19 toad. They were casting at the bank sitting in 8 to 12 feet of water. We took off at 6:45, from the state park.

I live 10 minutes form it and havent been on that lake in 8 months. I will get back on it this spring though.

I'd give my eye teeth to live 10 min from Degray! Corse I can literally see Lake Conway from my house and go maybe 3 times a year when the red ear are on the beds.
