    Doing it yourself?

Has anyone installed a phase kit (other than the pros).I have a 97 200 prov and would like to install a phase 1. I was a Volvo tech (auto)for 14yrs. so i have a mechanical back ground, been out of it for 8 yrs. Any special tools needed? Any info is appreciated...

All you need is a set of Mats and Wayne's or buy the whole Worthy Tool Kit.

I am no mechanic and just drive to Nixa to have my motor work done

I put HT reeds on my 1991 Pro-V myself. I had zero experience with outboards but have played with cars all my life. I didn't need any special tools. It was an unbolt, replace, bolt and torque job. Took me 3 hours and I took my time. You won't have any problems.

I put the HT reeds first. This was very easy. Next I put the HT tuner and solid motor mounts in. This was a little more involved, seperating the power head from the mid-section. (need a crane or a come-a-long from an attic support). My next project will be the HT heads. If your not sure use a digital camera for each step you do, better than your memory.

If there was a good step by step procedure available with pictures I think would do it in a minute.

easy, just time consuming , take it apart , put your bolts in different piles in relation to where they go and take it apart slowly and you will remember where it goes and if not boats.net has complete engine diagrams if you should get lost on a part as to where it goes or a good service manual .
