What kind of numbers are realistic

'96 21XDC, '95 225 Mariner Super Mag (stock), 15" set back, Torque master L/U.... I'm still playing with prop and set up but having trouble getting more than 6k rpm, can't go high enough w/o loosing water pressure. What kind of numbers can I ever expect to see with good fishing load, I don't want to keep getting frustrated if I'm expecting more from this set up than its capable of. Am I going to have to repower to 225 or 250 3.0L to get decent numbers. Just curious from you that have much more experience.

Re: What kind of numbers are realistic (judge)

I had a 94 21XD with a a mercury 225 efi with 12" setback loaded to fish full of gas running solo turning a 26p TXP 5400 I'd run 75 mph gps. It had more in it but it would Chine walk real bad and I haven't figured out how to drive it yet is think 78-80 is a realistic number.

74-76 is about as realistic as you are going to see.

    He's got a 2.5 225 NOT a 3.0. Longrodder has the right info.

    Re: (bassstar)

The motor was on my '95 20Xd with 12" setback and 27 chopper and was getting 84 with one person good fishing load and good water. Sold the 20xd w/o motor and put it on my current 21xdc that I rebuilt. Looks like I will re-power with 250. Hopefully can find someone who wants a perfect running Super-Mag 2.5L to off set cost.
