    Would HydroTec be for me?

Running a 2005 250HPDI on a 2005 Champion 203 with a 25 Tempest at 3 1/2" below. Had the plugs changed about 6 weeks ago and could maybe hit 69 GPS and now I am back down to 66 and cant get over 5500 RPM. I have been told I should be able to spin a 27 Tempest at around 74mph

Where do I start? Yamaha up here said that my hotfoot is opening everything up between 73-78%??? He even called Yamaha and they said said the most I could ever expect is 80%. Not sure what all that means.

It does look like i am fouling up a bit. I was idling at 690 after the new plugs and now am back to 550. I am also not using ringfree or seafoam(YET).

Any help would be appreciated, as this thing should be a hell of a lot faster than it is.

    Thanks

Shock treatment with ring free first. Pull the intake cover off. Have someone mash down on the hot foot, or be creative and do it yourself. This way you can see for yourself if you're obtaining WOT. Pull your plugs yourself to see if they are fouled. Did you call Wayne at HT for his opinion?

Read the instructions on the ring free bottle.

Re: Would HydroTec be for me? (Muz)

I run a 27 tempest+ worked by Mark Croxton on my 2000 203 with a 225 Yamaha at 6000 +/- at 74 mph GPS. At tournament with partner hit 70 -71 mph GPS. Biggest problem I found was the 3 mechanical pumps leaking (very small leak). The guys at Hydro Tech are very good and so are their products. I have the carbon fiber reeds and the exhaust tuner right now. Can't go wrong calling them.

If you haven't been using ringfree or seafoam I would also pull the o2 senser and the dog bone housing and give them a good cleaning.

Is there a link available that would help me with that O2 sensor?

Pretty sure there is NO o2 sensor on the 3.3L engines... Did you have the oil pump upgrade/recall done? Check to see what heat range your plugs are, they should be the 5's... Also, maybe the oil pump could be out of adjustment and dumping too much oil...

    Thanks

Talked to Wayne from H-Tec yesterday and he said the same thing. No O2 sensor and switch to the hotter plugs.

    Ordered them yesterday

That's ordered through the Yammie dealer up here

If I ordered on line, it takes too long once customs gets ahold of it, then I get taxed, so it is just as easy to pay it and have them in one day

Can't test run it yet. Working 7 in a row starting yesterday.
Need to work some OT to pay for those new plugs

Plug type part # with gap is on the rear port side on the engine pan, on a sticker.

Re: Would HydroTec be for me? (HaulinBass)

    OK

I prefished Monday-Thursday with the old plugs. Running a little heavier than normal ring free for about a week. Changed the plugs out Thursday morning and still can't get over 5350 RPM's with a tournament load and live wells. 64.5 MPH

Do I have a compresion issue or something???
If so, would any of that be covered under warranty???

Back to the original post. You're not getting WOT with the hotfoot?

Had them clean my injectors, and they found some particles, also checked the VST and it had a definite film of crap on it.

    Hope this helps me out
