Restore as far as I can go...1996 21XDC

Here is a photobucket link to before and after on 1996 21XDC, the last thing to is try to get rid of scratch link flaws in gel coat on right top cap. Is there anything that can be done short of complete strip down of top cap and re-flake, if not what can I expect to pay?

Re: Restore as far as I can go...1996 21XDC (judge)

I've got a 94' 21xd that Bo from Bullet has right know putting carpet in. After he gets finished its going to Mark Stillwell's house (also works at bullet) for a new top rail. Looks like you have the same problem I have with the cracking on the top. I've got pic's before on the carpet and top rail (mine looks rougher than yours) so when they get finished I will post the before and after pics. To answer your question on how much I dont really know yet on the top rail but the carpet is $1,250.00. You may get these things done cheaper at other places but I like the fact that I have Bullet people that build them everyday restoring my baby. Should know Friday what Stillwell's going to charge and dont care a bit to share it with you. By the way Mark and Red are two of the best in the business when it comes to gel and they just happen to work for Bullet. Good Luck

Please keep me posted about before and after pics. The carpet is new and was purchased from Bullet, I installed it with the help of a friend of mine that owns a body shop. He will not fool with the gel coating so I be very interested in having some info on these guys. Bow season is starts down here on Oct 1 and goes through mid January, so I can be without boat during that time without any serious withdrawl and have a good friend who is a preacher in Knoxville and would love an excuse to go see him. Please keep me posted

Speedy280 let me know how your boat turns out. I have a 94 21XD that I'd like to have the gelcoat redone on and I'm like you if one of the guys that worked on bullets everyday would do it I wouldn't mind paying a little more to have it done. My boat is I think Aqua Blue ( some kind of blue) with a Silver Chrome stripe. The blue has some white haze and doesn't shine, and the silver is faded and has a gold tint to it and I'd like to find someone to fix it and do it right, and I'm only about 3 hours from Knoxville so carrying it their to get fixed wouldn't be a big deal.

I can help with the pics. I need to get the gelcoat redone on my whole boat.
