    Going to need a sporty

Where can I buy a sportmaster LU for my 3.0L Mercury. I just looking right now but I know I'm going to need one. Is the the only thing they come in is a fat shaft? I finally found out that my motor isnt stock an that the hull is a one of kind.

Re: Going to need a sporty (FlipNpitchN)

what do you mean, "one of a kind"? If its a comp hull, it will be stamped "no warranty" by the HIN # on the hull.

the torquemaster is rated up to 89, and you would want a 1.75 fatshaft with the 3.0.....sometimes a good deal comes up on scream and fly or fastbass

Why not have the torque master coned. Titus of lowh20.com can fix ya rite up a whole lot cheaper than buying a sporty. It will run like a sporty. He coned my cle a few yrs back and it made all the difference in the world.

your 21 will be faster with a torquemaster unless you are pushing 300 horses

Re: Going to need a sporty (jclark408)

Ok Let me restate by saying one of kind at the time it was made it was supposedly one of a kind with paint scheme. The console is silver an the inside of the boat is red. It looks like the 08 that is for sale on the bullet for sale page. Something about the flake on the boat is different I dont remember what the guy said. I was told that it was the bullet boat that went to all the boat shows in 2002, but I dunno. Maybe some of y'all can remember back that far cause I was still in high school. It also is suppose to have a comp pad. Not the whole hull just the pad so it is a little light an I dont think the actual 21xd comp came out to later but I could be wrong also. When I bought the boat people told me that it would run in the 90's but all i can get is 85 out of it. I ran into the original owner a few weeks ago an he told I needed a sporty with 1.62's an 28 trophy out of the box will run 93-94. Then thats when I asked what in the motor, he started laughing ( I was told it was all stock when I bought it). Yes it has 300 heads an all that the other stuff so I'm guessing it has more than 250hp. It doesnt have a SVS but it does have 1 of 5 3.0L tunners made by Wayne Taylor??? an yes it gets very annoying after a 18 mile run. Sorry for the spill, just looking for some help

    +1 Josh.....

Sounds like the pad has been blueprinted, but that combined with the mods to your engine will not get the 21 to 97.

    typically the 21 w/ hot 250xb runs around 88

Just ask the guy the next time you run into him to take you out and show you what it can do. If he says it will run 90+gps with no problem then he should be willing to show you some pointers on how to drive it

Re: Going to need a sporty (rebel)

The motor was born a 250xb but I know it has 300 heads I dunno what else it has in it. Im not much of a mechanic. I know some people that run upper 80's an low low 90's an he was out running them. So I think 90 is a good goal for me.

Re: Going to need a sporty (FlipNpitchN)

it might touch 90 with a 150lb driver, and fumes in the tank...not trying to knock your boat, so dont take it that way....but 300 heads, and all the goodies from Simon wont get it up in the 90's.

Also if thats the case, why does it have a torquemaster on it now?

300 heads don't make it a 300. They give it a little more compression.

    I don't think you'll run 90 loaded to fish....sorry.

90 light would be a good goal.

Re: Going to need a sporty (jowens)

I didnt say it had a 300 but so all I'm sayin is that it has more than 250 but not close to 300 . So if most run 88 an I'm running 84-85 with a bad setup. I'm just sayin tha I think I can get 90 since I know the boat has gone that fast before. I just have to find the right setup.

    84-85 is typical speeds for a 21ft'er with a 250.

    I don't know of anyone with a 21ft'er with a 250 running 88 loaded.

Don't take my posts the wrong way, i have the same setup you do.
